Frequently Asked Questions

What counts as transcription time?

Only the audio duration is counted, measured in milliseconds. Processing time and latency are not billed.

What happens when I exceed my quota?

Your WebSocket connection will be terminated and you'll need to wait until next month for quota reset or upgrade your plan.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. Your access continues until the end of the billing period.

Is my audio recorded?

No. Dictate performs frame-level relay only. Audio bytes pass through our servers without being decoded, recorded, or stored.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. Every subscription includes a 7-day refund guarantee: request a full refund of your first payment within 7 days if the service is not working for you. After that you can still cancel any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. Full details on the refund policy.

Who processes my payment?

All payments are handled by Creem, our Merchant of Record. Creem charges your card and issues refunds — full card details never touch our servers.

Which speech recognition model do you use?

Recognition is performed by the Volcano Engine Doubao streaming speech recognition model (bigmodel). We are an independent relay service and relay audio frames to it frame-by-frame. See our Terms of Service for full model disclosure.

What can I transcribe?

Anything lawful, with consent from the speakers. Our Acceptable Use Policy sets out the six categories we prohibit, including a zero-tolerance policy on child unsafe content.
