1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Dictate, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Dictate provides a SaaS platform as described on our website. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time.

Dictate is a real-time speech-to-text relay. Your client opens a WebSocket connection to our gateway; audio frames are relayed frame-by-frame to our upstream speech recognition provider and the recognition results are relayed back to you. Audio bytes are never decoded, recorded or stored by Dictate.

2A. Underlying AI Model Disclosure

Speech recognition is performed by the Volcano Engine Doubao streaming speech recognition model (bigmodel), accessed through the Volcano Engine Open Speech Platform (openspeech.bytedance.com). Dictate is an independent service and is not an official product of, or endorsed by, the model provider.

The recognition output is generated by an automated speech recognition system. It may contain errors, omissions or mis-transcriptions. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any transcription before relying on it, in particular for legal, medical, financial or safety-critical purposes. We do not warrant the accuracy of recognition output.

3. User Responsibilities

• Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
• Use the service in compliance with all applicable laws
• Not use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Not interfere with the operation of the service
• Comply with our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference

4. Payment Terms

Dictate is sold as a recurring subscription. Payments are processed through Creem, our Merchant of Record, which handles your payment card data directly; we never receive or store full card numbers. By subscribing, you expressly authorise Creem to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the plan price shown on our pricing page, and you agree to:

• Pay all fees associated with your chosen plan
• Provide accurate billing information
• Automatic renewal each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. Plans include a monthly quota of transcribed audio measured in milliseconds; quota is measured server-side by audio duration and resets at the start of each billing period.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings, or by emailing support@dictate.top. Upon cancellation, your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period and you will not be charged again. Refunds are handled in accordance with our refund policy, which includes a 7-day refund guarantee on your first payment.

6. Data, Privacy and Security

Your use of the service is subject to our Privacy Policy. We collect account data and usage metadata for billing and capacity management; audio content is relayed to the recognition provider and is not stored by us. Payment card data is handled by Creem and never stored on our servers.

7. Limitation of Liability

Dictate is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of our service.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect.
